Inside CSM America

Facility services usually happen behind the scenes. At CSM America, we're changing that. The people doing the work deserve to be seen, supported, and given the chance to grow. That’s what this new chapter is about.

How Our Team is Redefining Facility Services

Facility services usually happen behind the scenes. At CSM America, we're changing that. The people doing the work deserve to be seen, supported, and given the chance to grow. That’s what this new chapter is about.

We’re building a company where people take pride in what they do, and where they know it matters.

Putting People First

For a long time, facility services have been the work no one sees, but everyone depends on. It’s demanding, it takes skill, and too often, the people doing it don’t get the credit they deserve

At CSM, we’re focusing on making this a better place to work. That means putting people before everything else. That includes our employees, our clients, and the communities we serve. But when we say “people first,” we’re not talking about perks or buzzwords, we’re talking about action.

Many of our team members work behind the scenes, but their work keeps entire buildings running. We’re making sure that work doesn’t go unnoticed. Ensuring our team feels seen, heard, and supported at every level.

What does that look like in practice?

  • Better communication between leadership and frontline teams
    Recognition for consistent, high-quality work
  • Access to training that’s clear, hands-on, and practical
  • Respect for the time, skills, and effort our employees bring to work every day

“CSM is giving people a real chance. Not everyone comes in with a long resume, but if they show up and work hard, there will be space to grow here.”

More Than a Job: Building Real Careers

Facility service roles are often seen as temporary. However, we think differently. We believe these roles can be stepping stones, not dead ends.

We envision many of our leaders starting out on the ground, currently pushing brooms, cleaning floors, and working night shifts, moving up because they are consistent, coachable, and committed and we see that.

We’re creating systems and programs to make internal growth more than just a possibility but a priority. We don’t expect people to have it all figured out when they start. We just want people who are ready to work, ready to learn, and ready to grow.

What career paths look like at CSM America:

  • Team Leads and Supervisors
  • Operations and Scheduling Coordinators
  • Site and Facility Managers
  • Training and Quality Control Leaders
  • Corporate roles in HR, Safety, or Business Development

Smarter Tools, Better Work

Technology is a big part of how we’re improving service quality—and employee experience.

We use JAMS (Janitorial Management Software) to help us manage tasks, track quality, and respond to issues faster. It allows our teams to focus on their work without the confusion or miscommunication that can come from manual systems or outdated processes.

Why this matters:

  • Employees get clear expectations and schedules
  • Clients get better service with faster response times
  • Leadership gets real-time data to improve quality and efficiency

It’s not just about automating work. It’s about supporting people with tools that help them succeed.

We also invest in sustainable cleaning equipment and products, which are safer to use and better for health. When we talk about doing the job right, we’re also talking about doing it responsibly—for our employees and our clients.

Fostering A Culture of Accountability and Respect

Culture isn’t what we say, it’s how we show up every day.

As we look ahead, we’re focused on accountability at every level. That means showing up on time, doing what we said we would, and treating others with respect. It applies to everyone, from entry-level cleaners to our CEO.

We’re working on building a space where:

  • Teamwork matters more than titles
  • Feedback is used to improve, not criticize
  • Leaders are expected to lead by example

We’re not perfect. But we’re aiming to build something better, for the long term.

One key part of our culture shift is promoting from within. We believe in giving our employees a reason to stay, not just a paycheck, but a purpose.

“If we want people to care about their work, we have to care about them first. That’s the shift we’re making—and it starts with leadership.”

The Future We’re Building

We’ve recently gone through a rebrand, not just to change how we look, but to reflect where we’re going.

We know we haven’t always gotten it right. That’s real. But the work we’re doing now is focused on growth, transparency, and improvement. We’re committed to becoming a company that stands for quality, integrity, and opportunity.

What that looks like moving forward:

  • A clearer path for employee advancement
  • Better communication with clients and team members
  • Cleaner, safer, and more sustainable spaces
  • A workplace culture where people feel proud to show up

Every facility we clean, every hallway we sanitize, every team member we train, it’s all part of a bigger vision. One where people matter. Work has meaning. And doing things right is just the way we do business.
